The legs are made of bubinga veneer over bending plywood.  The desk top is kevazinga veneer.  These two woods come from the same equatorial African tree; kevazinga denotes a very different figure from a unique log.  The tambour door (made of bubinga strips glued to a canvas backing) is a traditional low tech solution to the problem of enclosing a curved  asymetrical space.  Both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
